From salsa and street dance to contemporary African dance and childhood memories of family parties where music and dance were the order of the day, all these elements are integral to her process of exploration. Myth seeks to develop and take charge of her various learnings, and challenge movement beyond what she recognizes. In her approach, freestyle and openness of the body are challenged and at the same time enriched by the rootedness and relationship to rhythm proposed by contemporary African dance. Can we really detach or undo what we&#8217;ve studied and rehearsed hard for years? And how does this memory guide what is to become? Is it tangible? Which elements\/movements are retained and which abandoned? And why?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Myth draws much of her inspiration from tracing out different paths, forms and gestures, inspired by <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">freestyle<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, which is at the heart of house dance. Seeking to push movement beyond what is predefined by her experience and body memory, she seeks to break out of her comfort zone and meet with her own dance practice.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><\/div><!--close column table wrapper.
