During her studies, she was a university research assistant in philosophy and legal theory and in environmental law. She is currently studying for a master&#8217;s degree in law at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A self-taught artist based in Tiohti\u00e0: ke, she uses spoken word, writing, poetic language and, more recently, sound creation to offer forms that seek the unstable balance between the impulse to name things accurately and the beauty of what is imperceptible and unspeakable. She enjoys exploring layers of sound that combine field recording, poetry, synthesizers, effects pedal chains, samples and archival documentary sound.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her work has been presented in Montreal (Quebec), Caraquet (Acadia), Brussels (Belgium) and Grand-Popo (Benin). Her spiritual, professional, academic and social roots greatly influence her artistic expression. Taking as its starting point Musson&#8217;s rules for success as a black contemporary artist, the project questions the complex posture of artists whose writing is \u2018always seen as preceded\u2019. The project explores the tensions between authenticity, truth\u00a0 and representation in an age of hyper-reality, where sincerity can become a performance in itself. Initially conceived as a monologue between poetry, theatre and performance, the project attempts to blur the lines between fiction and reality, irony and self-mockery, sincere irreverence and provocation, caustic bite and tenderness.
