The Garden of D@ta – Visite Guidée

Maureen Béguin-Morin

📍Sauvé Metro Station, Exit A – Sauvé Nord

About the performance

“In 2050, Canada will be as hot as Brazil”

Maureen Morin, a leading tech entrepreneur, guides you for 30 minutes through your future home in 2050: “THE MOTHERBOARD” data center, where the temperature stays at a steady 19 °C year-round — the perfect place to escape the heat.

As the tour progresses, the entrepreneur driven by a thirst for money and technology fades away. New characters take over and reveal new perspectives on this world that’s catching fire.

Through dance, video, a short opera, and a cardboard set inspired by 3D spaces created in Blender and SketchUp, Maureen Béguin explores our polluting and poetic digital life.

About Maureen Béguin-Morin

‘’My computer and I, we’re going to die the same way: hot and memory full.”

Maureen Béguin–Morin is a French-Irish visual artist and performer. She performs fictions in which the body and technology are both caught in the same predicament: overheating amid global warming.

“Browsing”. This is how she defines her multifaceted practice, which blends physical performance, video, set design, 3D, improvisation, and her wanderings across the Internet, between the real and the digital.

Paracetamol Overclock

Diego Behncke

📍EISODE | Lieu pour les arts génératifs

About the performance

Through an electropneumatic installation, Paracetamol Overclock stages a strange, fragmented body whose spasms, contractions, and breathing form a choreography of their own. Drawing on the worlds of video games, puppetry, and computational systems, Diego Behncke blurs the lines between body and machine, automatism and fiction. The installation reveals a hybrid organism in which every movement seems to follow an invisible logic, inviting the audience to observe the mechanisms that animate gestures and narratives alike.

IntuitivHighWayz

Aïchatou E. Labarang and Vergil Sharkya’

📍Potager Au Courant

About the performance

Two hypersensitive beings and the tale of a promise made almost 10 years ago…

Following an initial collaboration through a mutual friend, Aïchatou and Vergil both felt the need to explore together when time would allow, as so much was resonating even when nothing was said. After meeting and gathering through conversations, they now have enough material to channel forgotten memories that continue to move them individually, through art and life.

In IntuitivHighWayz, two universes collide. From there emerge thoughts, teachings and possibilities, offering key and viable information to those who protect connectivity and are able to merge worlds within themselves. Perhaps, a path toward wholeness.

A work that proposes a meeting point between anchored structures and instant composition.

Alexe « LEX » Lebel-Faille

📍Intersection Rue Frémont & Foucher

About the performance

A body gradually moves away from structures and codes, entering instinct in search of a primitive sensuality. It allows itself to be guided by its senses, in a constant back-and-forth between control and surrender. Between nature and industrial matter, the body negotiates its place within the territory.

A performance inspired by the gestures of Whacking, unfolding to the sound of In My Ears (for Maryanne) by Montreal-based sound artist and dancer Estelle Schorpp.

Pour devenir cyniques

Lou Séguin et Lily Taillefer

📍Parc Henri-Julien

About the performance

Exhausted from campaigning against a toxic system that constantly swallows them whole, Lou and Lily give up, turning instead to the only thing they have left: cynicism. Determined to embrace this philosophy, they choose to burn everything down and walk away.

But just seconds before lighting the blaze, Lily hesitates.

What if there is still hope?

Note

Warning: this performance may cause a sudden urge to leave society, with your middle finger raised and your cabinets left empty.

About Lou Séguin et Lily Taillefer

Lou and Lily are not the same height and were not born in the same millennium. Aside from that, they are two similar beings who share the same endless grief for vanished lands. When they are happy, they climb mountains, float down rivers, and talk to the forest.

Every day, they ask themselves, without saying it to the other: “How many days do I have left before I burn it all down?”

Frédérique Laliberté

📍Parc Henri-Julien

About the performance

Did you know that a ship is currently hovering over the area around Henri-Julien Park, more than ten meters above our heads? The phenomenon is quite recent, and we have yet to find out how long it will last. For paranormal enthusiasts and skeptics alike, this is a rare opportunity to gather, study the sky (the surface?) and survey the lawn (the seabed?) in search of explanations.

Led by a speaker who is totally convinced, this performative scenario takes shape at the crossroads between a treasure hunt, a sightseeing tour, and an amateur UFO observation club.

Creation: Frédérique Laliberté

About Frédérique Laliberté

Frédérique Laliberté is an unknown stand-up comedian, an outdated geek and a future set designer. Through investigations, workshops, installations, films and performances, she tells stories in complicity with objects, materials at the end of their useful life and rubbish. A specialist of nothing, except perhaps papier-mâché, Frédérique has shown her polymorphous projects internationally in white cubes, black boxes and basements, on the waters of a river, between piles of gravel in a suburban wasteland as well as in the Sahara Desert. She lives, sails and tinker her shenanigans along the so-called St. Lawrence River.

Friends & Hammers – Prelude

Lauranne Faubert-Guay

📍Esplanade Louvain

About the performance

Friends & Hammers – Prelude is a solo performance that opens the choreographic world of Friends & Hammers : a first study towards a collective work about friendship and hammers.

Inspired by the writings of Sara Ahmed and bell hooks, it approaches friendship as a political force, essential to the emergence of communities, revolt and intimacy ; and the hammer as both weapon and tool, capable of dismantling oppressive structures and transforming the material and symbolic world. Rigour, solidarity, and queerness lie at the heart of the work.

Hammer always in hand, a body traces, digs, and builds imaginary territories sheltered from bombs. Friends & Hammers – Prelude prepares the ground, bringing body and tool into alignment before the others arrive. Because using hammers among friends is to love the world enough to want to transform it.

About Lauranne Faubert-Guay

Lauranne Faubert-Guay is a choreographer, performer, curator, and researcher in contemporary dance. At the intersection of choreography and sociology, she develops a practice in which movement becomes a political and poetic laboratory. Grounded in queer thought, her work explores the ways bodies transform themselves and resist the logics of exhaustion, analgesia, and extraction that shape lives. Her choreographic works weave together emancipation, ordeal and utopia through a rigorous visual language and an intensely vibrant physicality. From her choreographic practice emerge spaces where other ways of inhabiting both intimate and collective worlds can be imagined. Since 2020, she has served as Artistic Director of Devenir(s) corps, an organization that supports artistic creation and fosters greater accessibility to the performing arts in rural communities.

Nic Bourgeois

📍Esplanade Louvain

About the performance

In the alleyways lining the Louvain Esplanade, electronic high heels strike the ground. Nic Bourgeois gives meaning to the unevenness of the terrain and of their walk. They explore the site through various listening postures, gestures, and modular sound installations. As they move, their footsteps are amplified alongside the sounds unique to the neighborhood. Moving between sound walking and performance art, Pas-à-pas traverses the dancing, sonic, and digitized body.

About Nic Bourgeois

Nic Bourgeois (Montréal / Îles-de-la-Madeleine) develops a practice that engages the body, sound, and technology. Through the design of portable digital instruments, they forge new musical gestures in a performative relationship to sound experimentation. Assertive, tangible, and raw, their works emerge from a real-time dialogue between their body and machine-learning models, where they embody a queer presence delivered with vulnerability. Currently a master’s candidate in composition and sound creation at Université de Montréal, they have presented their work in various artistic and academic contexts, both in Quebec and abroad.

On The Edge Of The Swamp I Shot This Old Piece Of Skin I Shot It Hard My Friends

Gui B.B

📍Esplanade Louvain

About the performance

Two half-human, half-amphibian entities stand there, facing what was once their marsh. Lost in a fragmented memory, they howl, reverberate and pound the ground to wake whatever, in the depths, still refuses to die.

In this performance, Gui B.B develops a kind of amphibian drag, where the body becomes a haunted interface, run through by abstract figures composing a dissociated chorus. In doing so, she unfolds an aesthetic of glitch and overflow, summoning a baroque iconography steeped in pop culture and punk rituals.

What emerges is a murky fable — somewhere between queer ecological myth and horror tale. A ground for speculative excavation, where a desire takes shape: to evaporate and reappear inside a fairy tale that is faggy, slimy, and improper.

Concept and Performance : Gui B.B
Performance : Nate Yaffe
Rehearsal Direction and Stage Management: : Arnaud Rochefort-Allie

About Gui B.B

Gui B.B is an artist working in the field of experimental performance.

Approaching performance as a practice of world-building, Gui B.B deploys undisciplinary performative statements in which theatricality, irony, and voice appear as her primary materials. By engaging in different forms of kinship, while exploring an assertive dramaturgy of the body, her process brings forth new constellations — possible reconfigurations of dominant narratives.

Amid a profusion of object-gestures, she creates spaces where audiences can experience nonsense: an eruption of alterations to normative identifications. It is within these baroque spaces that she imagines playful “trans-fictions,” poetic narratives where a dissident mythology takes shape.

Geysers – étape de travail

Louise Michel-Jackson

📍Tonitex inc.

About the performance

Geysers brings forth what flows, leaks, seeps, spurts and overflows as manifestations of an unruly vitality. The performance seeks to restore visibility and agency to the pleasure of the pussy, while shifting what is perceived as “dirty” or “too much.” It makes perceptible what has been prevented from appearing.

A vulvic cosmology! A world of folds, openings, secretions and passages, where boundaries are porous and forms remain unstable. A lubricated space filled with tremors, humour, mischief and uncontrolled eruptions, where overflow is no longer something to be contained, but a force to let circulate, to experience and to feel.

About the performance

A long-form improvisation performed by five dancers and a DJ, rooted in the practices and techniques of house dance and music. Repetition, awareness, relay, variation, and synchronization create a balancing act grounded in collective responsibility. Each performer asserts their own world, singularities, and idiosyncrasies, while allowing themselves to be moved, shifted, and surprised by the others. The structure is built and dismantled in real time, navigating between mastery and unpredictability.
