Olivier Arteau

Olivier Arteau is an LGBTQIA2+ community-based artist of white colonial descent who explores the combination of kitsch, bouffon and tragedy. After training in theatre at Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Québec, he is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in dance studies at UQAM for which he explores masculine hegemony and gender identity in today’s society through a performative approach.

Les Ultraviolettes

UltraViolettes is an attempt to account for what is elusive, through the sampling of silent phenomena such as desire, putrefaction, and sunsets over a period of several months. Led by Olivier Arteau in collaboration with Fabien Piché, this process questions the materiality of happiness, the intangibility of pain and the invisibleness of unusual natural or human realities.
