Sonia Bustos’ interests are closely linked to socio-political advocacy and gratitude towards the performer’s creative work. She focuses her artistic research on women’s issues, the third root in South America, memory, theatricality and sharing with the public. She is the creator and performer of Intérieur brut; Je ne vais pas inonder la mer; and the trilogy LUZ (Luz : Dentelle; Luz: Terre; Luz: Écho).
Sonia Bustos is currently developing Luz: Écho, the final piece of a trilogy, born from the desire and the urgency to express an act of healing through an artistic project. How can we heal our bodies after experiencing sadness and fear? How can we transform pain into light after reporting and fighting against abuse? The artist aims to link multicultural communities by investing into a variety of spaces and through the use of different media (including embroidery).
