Banafsheh بنفشه is an Iranian feminist theatre artist. She is a co-founder of The Sky is the Limit Theatre, where they tell stories by, with and about people living in the margins, with a distinct focus on racialized, migrant and queer identities and experiences. They currently nurture their growing creative inquietude for diasporic and immigrant lives and experiences in an MA program at Concordia University. Banafsheh is preoccupied with home, memory, dreams, identity, un/changing and relations (blood and otherwise), and all that would happen “if only home [was not] the mouth of a shark” (Home, Warsan Shire).

The Sky is the Limit Theatre (TSLT) is an artistic collective committed to amplifying the diverse perspectives, histories and experiences of immigrant, racialized and queer peoples. Alongside original theatrical productions, TSLT is also a hub and publication for BIPOC performing arts criticism. Sort Of Productions is a process-oriented feminist theatre collective centering Black, racialized, queer, and trans artists, building our praxis around our lived experiences and struggles for liberation. Founded by esi callender and oli vee, credits include bite your tongue (2018), ineffable (2019), L’automne à New Stockholm (2026), Wine & Halva (2020/24/26), and Regarding Antigone (2025/26).
