Kyana Lyne
Kyana Lyne gathers the memories etched in the skin—echoes of sensations that pulse beneath the surface. Through the body, they reach for what can be felt more than named, tracing the quiet tremors of lived experience. They listen for the hollow places inside, where silence becomes sound, and sculpts voices that rise raw, guttural, and unrefined. In these atmospheres, Kyana weaves spaces of pause, of density—inviting contemplation. They unsettle the forms inherited from contemporary dance, bending them toward the ancestral, toward identity, toward the long work of healing.
Movement becomes their language of remembering, of reaching back. Through each gesture, they touch the threads of their Anishnaabe lineage, drawing them forward into the present—living, breathing, becoming.
