Amsatou Ndiaye

Athena Lucie Assamba is an emerging multidisciplinary artist, performer, and choreographer-researcher. Originally from Cameroon, she draws from African traditional and contemporary dances as well as street styles (waacking, dancehall, ndombolo, afro house). Since 2020, she has been an active member of Afrodojomtl, a collective dedicated to the transmission and celebration of Afro-descendant dances in Montreal. As a choreographer, she has created multiple works where memory, spirituality, and identity intersect. With a background in neuroscience and having trained at the Nyata Nyata Centre and the École des Sables, she explores the interconnections between movement, consciousness, and healing.

NKUL NNAM

NKUL NNAM explores the encounter between the African village and the urban club as two spaces of trance, freedom, and shared spirituality. This interdisciplinary work weaves together dance, DJ set, traditional music, fashion, and installation to reveal deep resonances between past, present, and future. Inspired by Bikutsi, ancestral chants, and Afrofuturist aesthetics, NKUL NNAM creates a sensorial universe where ancestry and modernity intertwine. Far from opposing tradition and innovation, this approach opens a liminal space from which new perspectives of freedom and collective connection emerge.
