Mireille Tawfik / Face de Râ

Inspired by writings that interlace intimacy and politics, such as those of Ernaux, Calle, Bechdel and Lorde, Mireille Tawfik is looking for that sweet balance in the ordinary details of our intimacies that can still speak to a collective group of people and have a political impact. For this project, she is interested in playing with the tension between the mental and emotional overload that the characters, Rafael and Mireille, are experiencing. A scenic format that strips down the staging as a symbol of resistance against productivity and capitalism is also central to their current practice.
