Zoé Tremblay-Bianco works to reveal human complexity through a multidisciplinary practice. After studying film, she has spent more than ten years working as a bilingual actor with contemporary directors and playwrights. At the intersection of performance, social engagement, and audiovisual production, her practice now includes directing, with a focus on a feminist, physical, and collective approach.
Zoé is interested in SHIT FUCK CUNT, one of the rare published works by writer Vickie Gendreau, who passed away in 2013 from an aggressive brain tumor at the age of 24. Released posthumously, it unfolds as an uncensored, intimate stream of thought on what it means to be a young woman in the 2000s, caught between the need for external validation and the drive for personal emancipation. Anger, obsessions, desire, humor, and helplessness surge through its pages.
Joining Gendreau’s voice are the writings of other Québécois poets who also died young: Geneviève Desrosiers, Marie Uguay, and Geneviève Castrée. Celebrating sisterhood as a militant act, Zoé’s research explores an adaptation embodied by a chorus of passionate feminist performers. It aims to bring to life the words of those whose brief, intense lives were shaped by poetry, illness, and the urgent need to speak.
