Mycelium plays within the cheap art, practicing mostly shapeless forms of live art. Trained in acting and sexuality, it’s current interests include perf, dance, stand-up and puppetry. His interest in puppets is animistic and friendly, understanding them more as collaborators than objects. Two key concepts currently run through it’s work: science-fée and performagie. Science-fée, inspired by the expansive concept of SF as described by Haraway, is an approach to storytelling that takes seriously the contribution of fairies, non-human entities, the impalpable and the mysterious to the creative process. Performagie, inspired by Jodorowsky’s psychomagy, refers to the healing potential of the living arts when practiced ritually.

Prières écoromantiques

Mycelium seeks to deepen its reflections on ecoromance, the fear of God, eroticism and death. In the face of immeasurable, calculated and globalized violence, any attempt at resistance can seem ridiculous, any prayer can seem to be done in vain. By embarking on this new cycle of research and creation, it hopes to touch and soften the vertiginous dissonance that haunts it with passionate love.

A few initial questions: If watered-down versions of fairy tales tell us that the kiss of true love can reverse all curses, are we sufficiently biophilic in the face of catastrophe?

Or are we too infatuated with death? The methodical annihilation of the living, of which we are a part, seems to it to be an eroticization of suicide, and one that we might do well to examine coldly (no pun intended).
